Spirit Electronics announced on August 24, 2026, that space-grade and high-reliability components from Texas Instruments and Microchip Technology are now available for direct purchase through its online store. The distributor made the announcement ahead of the SmallSat Conference in Salt Lake City, aiming to support growing demand for radiation-tolerant electronics for satellite and space system development.

According to the company, the newly available mission-critical devices include radiation-hardened power solutions, space-grade microcontrollers, high-reliability analog components, and precision timing devices. These integrated circuits are designed to withstand the extreme thermal, electrical, and radiation environments of various orbital regimes.

Component availability and applications

The parts are intended for use across a wide spectrum of space missions. Spirit Electronics specifies that the components are qualified for Low Earth Orbit (LEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO), Geostationary Orbit (GEO), Highly Elliptical Orbit (HEO), and deep space exploration.

Spirit maintains full catalog access for both Texas Instruments and Microchip Technology. The company's online store now provides a single procurement pathway for satellite manufacturers, research institutions, and New Space technology developers. This pathway integrates component sourcing with onshore value-added services.

These services include environmental testing, screening, qualification, and assembly support. The goal is to enable customers to prepare components for space deployment through one streamlined process.

Marti McCurdy, CEO of Spirit Electronics, stated that customers in orbital and space applications need reliable access to components that can survive harsh launch and deployment conditions. "By adding space-grade TI and Microchip products to our online store, we're making it easier for engineers to source mission-ready parts," McCurdy said.

She explained that the move allows for the seamless integration of Spirit's screening and qualification services into customer build plans. Supporting the SmallSat community with quicker access to orbit-proven electronics was described as a natural extension of the company's commitment to high-reliability programs.

The company plans to continue expanding its space-grade inventory listings and online purchasing options throughout 2026. This expansion is intended to support commercial satellite manufacturers, government programs, and academic missions that require U.S.-sourced high-reliability components.
