Vantor has appointed Will Cocos to lead its U.S. government business, overseeing the company’s work with defense, intelligence, and civilian agencies. Cocos takes on the role of executive vice president and general manager, replacing Susanne Hake, who announced her departure on August 19 after leading the division since 2023.

Leadership Transition and Strategic Expansion

The leadership change comes as Vantor, formerly Maxar Intelligence, seeks to broaden its services beyond high-resolution satellite imagery. The company aims to provide a wider range of software, data, and intelligence solutions to U.S. government clients. Cocos, who has served as Vantor’s chief transformation officer since 2023, will focus on accelerating the delivery of advanced capabilities to warfighters, analysts, and mission users.

Cocos brings a diverse background to the role, including military experience as a former U.S. Navy SEAL and combat veteran of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Before joining Vantor, he held leadership positions in the technology sector and was a partner at Boston Consulting Group.

Vantor’s Government Contracts and Satellite Fleet

The U.S. government remains a key customer for Vantor, which operates a fleet of 10 high-resolution electro-optical imaging satellites, including six WorldView Legion spacecraft. The company plans to expand its constellation with two Vantage satellites and up to 24 smaller Pulse satellites to improve revisit rates.

Vantor manages G-EGD Pro, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s (NGA) primary commercial geospatial-intelligence platform, serving over 1.2 million users across more than 250 government organizations. Additional government contracts include providing 3D terrain data for the U.S. Army’s One World Terrain program and automated analysis under NGA’s Luno program.
