Moog Inc. has expanded its METEORITE satellite bus capacity to support high-manuverability missions. The company has introduced a new High Delta-V configuration for its METEORITE (ESPA) class satellite bus, which offers greater flexibility and more maneuvering capability.

The High Delta-V METEORITE is designed for propulsion-intensive missions requiring high-energy transfers, large orbital plane changes, or frequent station-keeping. This configuration is ideal for missions where mobility and velocity are critical for tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and space domain awareness.

The new configuration builds on the flight-proven baseline model of the Moog METEORITE bus and its radiation-tolerant components. This allows for increased thrust and propellant mass without requiring lengthy development and qualification programs.

The METEORITE high delta-V propulsion system is developed in Moog’s propulsion production facility in Niagara Falls, NY. To meet increasing demand for Moog thrusters and propulsion systems, dedicated clean-room space is being expanded by more than 80 percent. This expansion will accelerate the assembly, integration, and testing of thrusters, enhancing capacity and delivery capability.

The full bus is integrated at the Moog facility in the greater Denver area, which has the capacity to integrate dozens of spacecraft per year. Moog’s customers are asking for spacecraft that can move farther, respond faster, and carry increasingly capable payloads.

There are several Moog METEORITE buses on orbit, supporting national security space missions. All Moog buses are built around decades of Moog flight heritage and TRL-9 components and systems.
