Moog Expands Huntsville Facility

Moog Inc. has announced a significant expansion at its Huntsville, AL facility, which now includes a new secure Hypersonic/Interceptor Hardware-in-the-Loop lab. According to the company, this lab is one of the only ones in the U.S. that can test a Hypersonic vehicle flight control system with real environmental factors using physical components in a multidomain environment.

Expansion Details

The new lab supports accelerated development cycles, reduces risk, and improves mission readiness for next-generation weapon systems for U.S. defense and space customers. Moog hosted an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony during the Space and Missile Defense Symposium to commemorate the milestone.

The event showcased the breadth and depth of Moog’s portfolio, including key capabilities such as the Reconfigurable Integrated-weapons Platform turret, Specialized Quad Rail Launcher, and Meteorite High-Capacity Space Vehicle. Guests were invited to tour the facility, engage with senior leaders from Moog’s Space and Defense divisions, and observe a hypersonic vehicle mission demonstration.

Greg Semrau, Moog Space Division Technical Director, stated that the HWIL lab demonstrates Moog’s commitment to solving the toughest problems in emerging platforms.
